New pictures will be posted shortly Checkers was purchased from us at 5 months and had a difficult start with his first owner and so when he was a few months short of two years we brought him back home to be with us. He is a sweet boy and has a very gentle disposition and we love him dearly, but we knew that because of his previous situation he deserved to be placed in a home with a family where he was the main focus of their love and attention. He took some training, but he quickly came around to being a well mannered boy for us. We had hopes that he would begin building his self esteem and show interest in retrieving again. He loved to retrieve when he was a puppy, but now he was so insecure he refused to leave our side even to get the bumper. We knew we had to find this boy a very special home and we were fortunate enough to find the Traugott family in North Carolina. They not only have Checkers retrieving again with full gusto but he is a well adjusted and happy boy. They have graciously agreed to keep him intact and allow us to show him later. THANK YOU!
