Happy Owners
Letters from people satisfied with our puppies
To be honest, any breeder could contact ONLY the people that were satisfied with their puppies
and post numerous letters and pictures with smiling faces showing how happy they are.
The fact of the matter is that you can't make everyone happy all of the time and so I feel almost
like I am being dishonest doing that. Are the vast majority of our puppy families satisfied with
their Labrador? Of course they are! Especially since we do the puppy evaluations to assist in placement.
Once in a while though someone is not satisfied for one reason or the other and so it does happen.
The main reasons for someone not being satisfied is the simple fact that they were either not ready for
a puppy or had a very false misconception of what raising a puppy was like. They find themselves overwhelmed
and are just not ready for that kind of responsibility and so the puppy is returned.
Other reasons are that the dog is not properly trained and it is allowed to "rule the roost" so to speak. The owner
did not established themselves as the alpha pack leader when the puppy was young and possibluy catered to their
puppies every need. When that puppy grows into an adult they find that the dog calls the shots instead of them
and shows them no respect what so ever, won't listen and is a "wild child". This problem can be corrected with training.
The last is a health concern such as parasites, kennel cough or a genetic issue.
Almost all puppies are born with one type of worm or the other due the way that parasites reproduce and vast areas
of the ground that are infected. It is impossible to go anywhere outside with your puppy and not come into contact
with something they could possibly bring home. We begin the deworming process but it doesn't stop there and they must
visit the vet to continue their treatment. Also there can be loose stool for a few days after changing homes, water
or food. Read more about health issues through links on our All About Puppies page.
Genetic issues are discussed in great detail on my site and so if you have not already, please read
all of that information. As I point out, no lines are completly clear of all genetic issues and so though
the chance of producing it is rare it can happen. There can be environmental factors as well but if you go
by percentages the number of issues we have produced is very small. We have an outstanding guarantee in
place that is a "you keep your Labrador" agreement that you should read over.
SO...You were expecting a whole bunch of "Oh our puppy is great, thank you so much Coldwater" weren't you?
Well...sorry about that.
After saying all of this there still may be a chance you would like to see some letters from Happy Owners. If that
is the case I would be happy to provide those for you. I just thought it was silly to post them here.
